Mexico: What can you expect?


We are SO excited to be featuring Mexico for the month of July!  Here are a few facts about Mexico to get YOU excited!  You can also look forward to some awesome posts about food, fashion, adventure travel, art and MUCH more!!

Population: Over 107 million people.

Size: Just under 2 million square miles.

Geography: There are 31 states in the country of Mexico. The United States borders Mexico to the north, and Belize and Guatemala border Mexico to the south. To the west of the country, is the Pacific Ocean. On the eastern border is the Caribbean Sea, and the Gulf of Mexico. Because of the country’s vast size, there are many different areas, from the Baja of California, which has many great beach resorts like those of Los Cabos. Along the Gulf of Mexico, there are cool and high mountain ranges. In central Mexico, there is a scorching desert with many archeological sites. In the north there are dry, arid mountains. The Pacific coast is very beachy, along with the Yucatan peninsula, which is filled with gorgeous beaches and fascinating history.

Religion: 90% of Mexicans practice Roman Catholicism

Capital city: The capital of Mexico is Mexico City, and over 18 million people live in this thriving city! Mexico City is one of the top ten most populated cities in the world.

Language: The official language spoken in Mexico is Spanish, but there are many indigenous languages spoken in the rural areas of the country.

Currency: The Mexican peso

National sport: Soccer.
