Welcome to Barbados!

Barbados is an island in the Caribbean that was under British rule until 1966 when it gained independence. The island is most known for its beaches and the water activities available.

That’s the official description, here is the fun one.

Barbados is a gorgeous island that offers 60 miles of coastline. More importantly, it is warm RIGHT NOW. What better time to think of a romantic getaway than during the winter months? (Not to mention that Valentine’s Day is coming soon, too!) The best places to stay and relax are all near Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados.

The country is split into different parishes. I recommend starting in St. James, St. Michaels (which includes Bridgetown), or Christ Church. Of course if you find attractions inland that you would like to try, feel free to venture. The island is only 166 sq. miles so many things are within easy driving distance.

I know you are tired of the snow and freezing temps; start thinking of Barbados, where the only ice you see is in your drink!
