Bruins Lose Mark Stuart For 6 Weeks

"Veteran Bruins defenseman Mark Stuart fractured a bone in one of his hands during Tuesday night's 3-2 win over Buffalo at the Garden and will be lost to the Boston backline for some six weeks.

According to a club source, the 26-year-old Stuart sustained the fracture when blocking a shot early in the game. The same source said that Stuart, who was sidelined by injuries for 26 games last season, will not require surgery (Boston.com)."

Stuart has been a guy that never really got hurt, but over the last two seasons he has missed a lot of time. The Bruins have already traded Hunwick, and now Stuart is gone for the next month and a half. This could hurt the Bruins defense, which is one of the best in the NHL, and put more pressure on Tim Thomas. Bottom line is the offense has to step up, or this team will never be as good as they should be.
